{The K- & V-Matrix system}
For the reason that the K- & V-Matrix can only be used in the complete dimension with
IT-support, the software-tool - the so called K- & V-Matrix system - was developed.
It insists of the following components (see picture below):

an Inputtool for the digital acquisition of the
K- & V-Matrix
-
a relational data base for the storage of the data
-
an Outputtool for the usage of the data in the sales process
(in the meaning of a product configurator)
The Input- and the Outputtool were realized with an internet technology that bases on the Client-/Server-
architecture. This technology allows the integration with for example PDM- or ERP-systems as shown in the
following.

Inputtool
The inputtool is used for the input, the care and the administration of the data based on the
K- & V-Matrix. Purpose of the conception and design was the original illustration of the action,
that is used for the K- & V-Matrix, so that the GUI is intuitional and helps the acceptance.
For this reason, there were three masks developed, which shall optically be very close to the K- & V-Matrix.
Outputtool
The Outputtool has the purpose to make the data of the K- & V-Matrix usable for the configuration
of a product. This is especially important for the sales process.
As mentioned for the inputtool, there is a main purpose to make the used interface intuitional, so that
the acceptance of the method and the system is as good as possible.
Depending on the scenario, the Outputtool is completed with the additional functions. Therefore a
Java-class-library for the interaction of the elements of the K- & V-Matrix is established. On this
basis the functions, like for example the loading and the continuation of started configurations, the
visualisation of configured elements and interfaces to other systems, were realized.
