{Problem}
The K- & V-Matrix is a very structured proposal, that is not able to describe
unstructured and declarative K-knowledge. This is explicit the following kinds of
knowledge:
- Text,
- Graphic,
- schedules and
- all other kinds of knowledge-representation.
In particular text is a kind of knowledge-representation, that can be, next to the structuring
form of the K- & V-Matrix, very useful. It is for example possible to describe complex coherences,
which cannot be described with the K- & V-Matrix, with the help of text. Frequently the unstructured
and describing K-knowledge is available in forms of data files. For the management of these configuration
knowlegde the K- & V-Matrix system must be completed
by another component, the Wiki.
{The Wiki Concept}
The strenght of Wiki is a fast collecting, structuring and across-referencing of information
in a group of distributed working users. The work of Wiki looks alike the common, collaborative
modeling of a webside.
Even if Wiki is not very widespread in the industry, there are some organisations and
companies, that use it as a discussion-server of a knowledge-basis (for example Motorola).
The Wiki-concept is based on the following key-functions, who make it easy but
effective:
-
www-based: the user can watch and change all sides of Wiki with an easy web-browser,
an installation of additional software is not required. Also the administration is
done via www. Additional software is only required at the server.
- WikiWords:
For the adding or changing of contents of a wiki-side the user can use WikiWords. WikiWords
are words with two or more capitals. The purpose is:
If a WikiWord is not already used, a new wiki-side with the WikiWord as name is created.
If the WikiWord is already in use, a hyperlink to the wiki-side with this name is created.
On the basis of this easy key-functions, the usergroups have starting on a single side, a knowledge
basis of many linked wiki-sides. Examples are http://zwiki.org.
